Project Overview

When Motion Sickness set out to create a studio as bold and distinctive as their ideas, Surface was proud to help bring that vision to life. In collaboration with Wonder Group and CASA, we contributed to the transformation of their Grey Lynn space into a modern creative hub - one that nods to the bold aesthetic of the 70s advertising era while delivering the functionality of a contemporary collaborative workplace.

Our scope covered the full decorating package - including GIB installation, stopping, painting, and specialist finishes. Central to this was the application of Ambitec Suave, a refined plaster finish that delivers a soft grey, concrete-like effect, adding depth, texture, and a subtle industrial edge. This artisan finish sits effortlessly alongside the vintage-inspired pink glass, custom powder-blue carpeting, and bespoke furniture, tying the palette together and amplifying the studio's unique personality.

Executed with precision and an eye for detail, every finish played a role in shaping a space that fuses past and present - a layered, textured environment where creativity has room to thrive.
