Inspired by the cherished Member Cottages of Tara Iti Golf Club, these north-east facing retreats capture unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean and the rolling greens of the course.

Designed by Studio John Irving Architects, the cottages and six-bedroom Te Arai Links Villas are thoughtfully integrated into their rural estate setting. Weathered timber boards, sarked timber ceilings, concrete, and stone combine to create a timeless, organic aesthetic that harmonises effortlessly with the surrounding landscape.

Surface played a key role in delivering the full decorating package, providing specialty finishes that add warmth, durability, and refined elegance throughout. Our natural timber oiling enhanced the cedar cladding's grain while offering essential protection against coastal conditions. Timber intumescent coatings provided fire resistance without compromising the wood's natural beauty. Additionally, the application of Rockcote Cerano fireplaces introduced a sleek, modern element that complements the organic material palette perfectly.
